I may have written my original post HERE, prematurely. Or maybe I’m just being taught to continue listening to my son as he speaks and expounds upon truths.
My boy and I have discussed this topic a few times in the past couple of months, and in every case, the things he’s already told me have remained consistent. I wonder if what he has already seen is being added upon, or if he’s just better able to explain it the next time we talk.
These are the details he has told me since my initial post two months ago:
- Jesus and the angels are going to come down the “stairs” to the earth
- This will be their new home, and they will live here with us for awhile
- After they live here for awhile, Jesus and the angels will go back up to the clouds
As I explained before, he has received no information about these things from any earthly source. As my son expounded upon these details, he used hand motions to demonstrate how the Lord and the angels will come “down the stairs” to the earth. He also told me how they will return back up into the clouds by showing me that they will be all together, and collectively taken up – as if they will be on a craft, or in a large area that is lifted up – together with the beings there.
What he described and demonstrated reminded me of what we are told in the scriptures about how the City of Enoch was taken from the earth – and how it will return to the earth with the Savior and those who dwell there – and that they will join the Zion that has gathered here that has prepared a place they can return to:
“And righteousness will I send down out of heaven; and truth will I send forth out of the earth, to bear testimony of mine Only Begotten; his resurrection from the dead; yea, and also the resurrection of all men; and righteousness and truth will I cause to sweep the earth as with a flood, to gather out mine elect from the four quarters of the earth, unto a place which I shall prepare, an Holy City, that my people may gird up their loins, and be looking forth for the time of my coming; for there shall be my tabernacle, and it shall be called Zion, a New Jerusalem.
And the Lord said unto Enoch: Then shalt thou and all thy city meet them there, and we will receive them into our bosom, and they shall see us; and we will fall upon their necks, and they shall fall upon our necks, and we will kiss each other;
And there shall be mine abode, and it shall be Zion, which shall come forth out of all the creations which I have made; and for the space of a thousand years the earth shall rest.
And it came to pass that Enoch saw the day of the coming of the Son of Man, in the last days, to dwell on the earth in righteousness for the space of a thousand years;(Moses 7:62-65)
Denver Snuffer spoke in his 2011 lecture titled “The Mission of Elijah Reconsidered“, about the Zion City of Enoch, and the reunion that will take place with that city and with the new Zion that is formed here on earth. I think I would have to recount the entire lecture here in order to include all of the detail and information Denver has provided for us on this topic, so I’ll leave it up to the individual to read it.
He also expounded heavily upon Zion and these last days events (though maybe not in the way many were looking for), in the ten-lecture series he gave this last year. Those transcripts are also available through the links on Denver’s blog. I highly recommend that anyone reading this, take the time to read through those lectures as well and allow the spirit to teach you more about Zion and the Second Coming of the Lord.
When my son made mention of the Lord and the angels coming “down the stairs” to the earth, I initially discounted it and didn’t think his description of “stairs” could be literal. I assumed that like many of us who have seen spiritually, my son might have been trying to describe what he saw – with only a limited vocabulary available to attempt to explain things seen beyond the veil. As I re-read Denver’s Elijah lecture, this part struck me:
“Instead, he is vital as the last one to make the ascent from earth to heaven. He rose up through the fiery corridor, and went to God‘s presence. He joined the ―fathers in heaven‖ who are to return. He last opened the way by his physical ascent. He will be the first to physically descend through the fiery corridor to return from heaven to dwell again on earth. His return will not be made in a temporary opening. We‘ve had plenty of those. His return will open a permanent, fixed stairway between the ―fathers in heaven and those who are prepared for the return of Zion. Zion will be overshadowed by the Lord‘s glory. The fiery corridor, or pillar of fire, or ladder to heaven, or conduit into heaven, or chariot of fire, will be opened by Elijah‘s descent. It will remain over Zion and will be visible there. It will not be temporary. It will be the place from which the first preparations for the Second Coming begin.” (DS, The Mission of Elijah Reconsidered, pg.28-29, emphasis added.)
What my son was describing might very well be more literal than I realized, and Denver seems to have provided another witness of how these events might “look”.
After my son told me these new details about the angels and the Savior, I remembered the painting I had seen by artist Jon McNaughton, depicting the return of the Savior in these last days. I showed it to my son for the first time, and asked him if it looked like the things he sees. He lit up and told me “Yes!”, and then started to tell me again about the things he has seen. He pointed to the painting, and made note of the clouds, the angels, and the Savior in his “red coat”.
What amazing times we are living in as these events are unfolding right before us. If we choose to, we have the opportunity to witness these glorious things firsthand and be a part of them!
